I’m pleased to be working with my friend Lynne Baird on Anti Bleeds Kits for Coventry. Lynne set up the Daniel Baird Foundation in memory of her son, who she lost to Knife Crime.
The purpose of Anti Bleed Kits is to stem building in the immediate aftermath of an attack, before paramedics can reach a victim. They cost just £80 each. It is so sad that this is necessary but with the rising knife crime we must do everything we can to save lives.
Following a meeting with the Coventry council leadership, public health and first aid professionals, Anti Bleed kits are being rolled out about Coventry. The West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner is supporting the campaign and funding kits in public places, and I have already had local businesses and community organisations contacting me direct so that they can host kits as well.
